Supreme Court Lists Review Petitions Against Judgement Upholding PMLA Provisions On September 18

The Supreme Court in the case Karti P Chidambaram v. the Directorate of Enforcement observed and has listed the review petition pending against the Vijay Madanlal Choudhary judgement, which upheld various provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, PMLA on September 18.

The bench comprising of Justice Surya Kant and Justice Ujjal Bhuyan was hearing the present matter.

The counsel, Senior Advocate Kapil Sibal mentioned the matter.

The three-judge bench of Justice Kant, Justice CT Ravikumar and Justice Bhuyan is hearing the review petitions.

The bench headed by Justice Ravikumar was not sitting and as such, the matter had to be relisted.

The VMC judgment was delivered on July 27, 2022 by a bench comprising Justice AM Khanwilkar, Justice Dinesh Maheshwari and Justice CT Ravikumar.

The certain provisions of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, 2002, PMLA were upheld.
