PURR: PANTHER-LIKE SUV A JOY IN ITS PRICE RANGE

Magnite ticks all the boxes

"I love your car!" says a beaming nine-year-old boy, my neighbour's son, as he watches me park the striking black Nissan Magnite Kuro in reverse.

This young car enthusiast has a knack for noticing what stands out on the road, and I can't blame him for taking an instant liking to the Magnite Kuro.

With its adventurous and aggressive look, this car makes a statement even in a quiet suburban street. In the world of cars, honesty is often seen in the eyes of children who know when something looks undeniably cool.

The Nissan Magnite Kuro is not just another compact SUV; it's an embodiment of power, precision and personality all wrapped up in a package that's ready to hit both city streets and dirt roads.

Its name, "Kuro," meaning "black" in Japanese, speaks to the distinctive colour scheme of this model, which boasts an all-black interior and exterior that adds an air of sleek sophistication and subtle menace.

But the appeal of this car isn't only skin-deep. Priced between R280 000 and R300 000, the Magnite Kuro offers far more than just looks—it delivers impressive performance, comfort and tech for its price range, making it a standout option for drivers who want both functionality and flair.

It spoke to me and my driving needs in a style meets substance way.

The first thing you'll notice about the Magnite Kuro is its design. With a dominating front grille and sharp LED headlamps, the car's face is unmistakable and distinct, giving off an aggressive yet refined vibe. It's the kind of car that commands attention and almost dares you to look away. It has a panther-like appearance in the form of a car.

The exterior's deep black hue, combined with contrasting chrome accents, adds a premium finish that's hard to find in cars in this price bracket.
