Muzi expects a 'Glamorous' day

Inspector James expected to get it right this time.

Muzi expects a 'Glamorous' day

Last week saw Barbaresco start off his season with a bang and put himself on the shortlist as one of the main contenders for the upcoming Betway Summer Cup.

He was ultra-impressive even though he pulled quite hard for most of the race, and if he learns to settle, he is going to make his presence felt going forward.

Our best bet on last week's column was Inspector James but unfortunately, he dislodged S'manga Khumalo coming out the pens after stumbling - and the rest is history.

Unfortunately, S'manga suffered an injury from the fall and it seems he will be out of action for about six weeks, so I wish him everything of the best and a speedy recovery.

However, our value bet on the card, Nettleton, won a very good race and here's hoping that assisted our followers.

On a personal note it was a fair week for me, notching up four winners since the column went to print last week and I'll be aiming to add many more to the tally.

We have another double header today with racing both at Turffontein on the Inside track and at Hollywoodbets Durbanville where two Grade 3 features will be run.

While we will be focusing on the Turffontein card, we will also take a look at both the Kuda Matchem Stakes and the Baker McVeigh Diana Stakes which contain high-quality horses in them.

Starting with the Matchem Stakes, which is Race 8 on the card, and it's lovely to see superstar sprinter Gimme A Prince return after nearly a year off the track. He will need to be cherry ripe to win, but he has all the class needed. My suggestion is to watch the betting because that will be the best guide to his chances.

At My Command returns after a small break but he is a very classy horse, and I think he will love the step up in trip and I make him the horse they all have to beat.

Questioning won a good race last time out and a repeat of that will see him as the immediate danger as he holds many of the other runners on that win.
