Menopause is often shrouded in mystery, even though it's a completely natural stage of life that every woman will go through.
Menopause 101: Why Every Woman Should Be Prepared for This Natural Life Stage

It doesn't need to be scary or overwhelming, but it does require awareness and preparation. When you know what to expect, you can make informed choices that will improve your overall well-being - and quality of life.

So, let's break it down and understand why every woman should be prepared for this life stage. What Exactly is Menopause? Menopause marks the end of a woman's reproductive years. In India, the average age for menopause is around 46 years, although this can vary. The years leading up to menopause, known as perimenopause, usually start 8-10 years before the final menstrual period. During this time, the body undergoes a series of changes due to fluctuating hormone levels. This can result in various symptoms, from irregular periods to mood swings.

Menopause itself is defined by going 12 consecutive months without a period. After that, you enter postmenopause, where the body adjusts to a new hormonal baseline. Understanding these stages can help you anticipate and manage the changes that come with menopause.

Why You Should Be Prepared for Menopause Many women are caught off guard by the symptoms of perimenopause and menopause. It's not just about hot flashes or mood swings-symptoms can include joint pain, sleep disturbances, memory problems, and even changes in skin and hair. Some women might experience weight gain, while others may struggle with emotional ups and downs.
