O P Chautala who was crowned as the CM of Haryana a record five times, had been an MLA seven times.
He had won three by-elections and four general elections from various assembly seats. Chautala became the chief minister for the first time on 2 December 1989 and remained in this post till 22 May 1990.
The month of July was significant in his political life because he assumed power twice out of five times, that is, the second and fourth time, in the month of July.
He became the CM for the first time on 2 December 1989 (171 days) and on 12 July 1990, Chautala took the oath as the chief minister for the second time when the then chief minister, Banarasi Das Gupta, was removed from this post within two months.
