Startup funding surges 42% in Jan-July: Report

The Indian startup ecosystem is beginning to show signs of recovery from the funding winter.

According to the latest venture capital (VC) funding data for the January-July 2024 period, released by analytics firm GlobalData, Indian startups experienced a substantial 42% increase in VC funding, with 672 deals raising a total of $6.3 billion. This marks a significant improvement compared to the same period last year, where startups secured $4.4 billion across 664 VC deals.

While the deal volume showed only a modest rise, the increase in funding value is notable.
