Exploring the inside of the temple
The Free Press Journal - Bhopal|December 22, 2024
It was a bright new day in the village of Vatsapura, and Siddhartha was very excited to learn about the interior of the temple and had many questions.

He arrived at the temple courtyard, expecting to meet Acharya Vishvanatha. Instead, he was greeted by Sameeksha, one of Acharya's disciples.

"Acharya couldn't come today, so he asked me to show you around," Sameeksha said. "Let's explore the temple together."

Siddhartha nodded, and they walked inside. The first thing he noticed was the rows of tall pillars supporting the roof. He noticed how they were strong and evenly spaced, giving the temple a sense of balance, symmetry and order.

"Why are there so many pillars and why are they built like this?" Siddhartha asked.

"These pillars hold up the roof," Sameeksha explained. "Pillars of Indian temples are often made up of different parts stacked vertically, like how we see different layers on the walls of the temple. These parts are like building blocks each with its shape and purpose. Sometimes you will see there are simple or complicated decorations on these pillars."
