It also cleared three railway projects worth Rs6,456 crore to improve logistical efficiency and increase the existing line capacity in the states of Odisha, Jharkhand, West Bengal and Chhattisgarh.
The CCEA meeting, chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, noted that "India will soon wear a grand necklace of Industrial Smart Cities". The 12 projects approved by it would seek to "transform the industrial landscape of the country" by creating a network of industrial nodes.
