They entered the beach through an entrance not meant for vehicles. It is not clear whether the driver was drunk.
An autorickshaw driver and his friend were run over by a jeep in Versova, on August 12, while they were sleeping.
Ganesh Yadav and his friend Bablu Srivastav, both aged 36, were sleeping at Sagar Kutir Chowpatty at Seven Bungalows in Andheri, when the jeep fatally ran over Yadav and injured Srivastav, around 5.45am.
Srivastav sustained injuries to his face and right hand. Police have arrested the accused, Nikhil Jawade, 34, who was reportedly driving the jeep and his associate, Shubham Dongre, 33, who was in the co-passenger seat. Both have been remanded in police custody until August 16. Jawade is from Nagpur, while Dongre is from Navi Mumbai.
