In light of deteriorating weather conditions, the Char Dham Yatra has been suspended for a day. The disaster management department issued an advisory on Sunday, urging people to avoid any travel due to a red alert for heavy rainfall.

Char Dham Yatra On Hold Due To Heavy Rain

Garhwal Commissioner Vinay Shankar Pandey confirmed the suspension, stating that the decision was made to ensure the safety of the pilgrims. Travelers were advised to stay where they are.

A red alert for heavy rainfall has been issued for all six districts of the Kumaon region, as well as Rudraprayag, Chamoli, and Pauri in the Garhwal region on Sunday. This has increased the risk of landslides and rising river levels.
