Death for man who killed actor & 5 of her family

The sessions court on Friday handed out the death penalty to Jammu and Kashmir resident Parvez Tak for the February 2011 killing of actor Laila Khan and five members of her family, calling it "the totally barbaric act of a human being in modern civilised society".

Tak had been held guilty of killing Laila, 30, her elder sister Azmina, 32, twin siblings Zara and Imran, 25, cousins Reshma and Shelina, 51. The family had gone missing from Mumbai since February 2011, with no one having seen them alive since February 8, 2011. It was more than a year later, in July 2012, that their bodies were discovered, buried in a pit at the actor's farmhouse in Igatpuri.
