December has become the perfect excuse to rediscover those moments of stillness, to pause and reclaim a little slice of the serenity we once took for granted.
Earlier, for people like me—the 90s kids, the holiday season used to come with a peculiar kind of pressure—the relentless Fear of Missing Out, or FOMO.
The need to attend at least one New Year party—even if with parents, share stories with school friends about winter trips, and show the world we were living our "best life" was exhausting.
Now, a remarkable shift is taking place. We are now saying no to the noise and yes to the Joy of Missing Out, or JOMO, embracing solitude, spirituality, and stillness instead.
It's fascinating how December has become a sacred month for so many around me.
The pull of crowded celebrations has been replaced by a longing for quiet moments.
It's no longer about capturing the perfect group photo under the dazzling chandelier with confetti all around but about savoring a cup of hot cocoa while journaling on the couch.
