A year after the BMC awarded contracts for the ambitious Mumbai Coastal Road Project (MCRP) 2 from Versova to Dahisar, Union minister of commerce and industry, Piyush Goyal, assured that work for the Rs16,621-crore project would begin within the next 45 days. He made this announcement after reviewing several infrastructure developments in his Mumbai North constituency on Saturday.
Goyal has also set a target to get 40 corporators elected from the Mahayuti in his constituency in the upcoming BMC elections.
In a joint meeting with the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority, the Slum Rehabilitation Authority, and civic chief Bhushan Gagrani, on Saturday evening, he essentially focused on the 20km coastal road part two.
