The film, reportedly inspired by the 2008 Malegaon bomb blast case, was challenged by Lt. Col. Prasad Purohit, an accused in the case, who argued that it could prejudice his ongoing trial and tarnish his reputation.
The film's producer told the court the movie was based on a published book and included a disclaimer stating it was fictional with no resemblance to real persons. After considering arguments, the court suggested minor revisions to the disclaimer, which the producer agreed to make.
