Amid the ongoing severe cold wave conditions and a cold spell in the Kashmir valley, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Sunday informed about his decision to cancel his scheduled programmes in Jammu and to remain stationed in Srinagar to oversee the working of the power and other departments.
Although there was some respite from the intense cold wave conditions in Kashmir but the valley continued to reel under sub-zero temperatures on Sunday, officials said. The extreme cold led to freezing of water supply lines and thin layers of ice forming on the surfaces of several water bodies, they said.
