Newly-widened road turns hazardous, PMC faces ire

A stretch of the NIBM Road, from Kad Nagar towards Undri, has been recently widened. However, it has caused a major issue now as the electricity poles, which were on the side of the road, have come into the centre, posing a threat to commuters.

Residents say that the civic body should have first widened the other side of the road, which has been encroached upon by new shops and stalls.

The old shops were built as per sanctioned plans along the road keeping safe margins, however, some new shops have encroached upon the margin on the opposite side, which should have been widened first, the residents claim.
