Puli Raju: Farmers' 'go to man' in Telangana

"This year 170 farmers committed suicide across Telangana. The government has changed but the plight of farmers hasn't," says Puli Raju. A teacher of Mandal Parishad Primary School, Tuniki Khalsa, Wargal mandal of Siddipet district, has so far visited more than 5000 families across the Telangana state, since 2001. Coming from an agricultural family, Raju who is from Yetigadda Kistapur village has closely watched his own family members and relatives battle the hardships of a water crisis, changing crop patterns, climate change, the struggle for minimum support price.
