Tensions flared on Monday as Congress workers clashed with Police after the state Congress president Ajay Rai was stopped from visiting Sambhal district. However, Rai, along with party workers, staged a sit-in protest outside the Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee office.
NOTICE TO RAI
The police had earlier issued a notice to Rai, citing a district magistrate's order under Section 163 BNSS, which prohibits entry into Sambhal until December 10 to maintain public order. Addressing reporters, Rai said, "Whenever the restrictions are lifted, a Congress delegation will visit Sambhal. We will independently investigate the situation and expose how the police and administration are misleading the public with false reports."
