Even as Congress released its manifesto for the Lok Sabha election in Jaipur on Saturday and top brass of the party including national president Mallikarjun Kharge, former president Sonia Gandhi and national general secretary Priyanka Gandhi, appealed to the public to vote for the party and INDIA to save the Constitution and democracy.
Addressing the party's first election meeting in Rajasthan, Sonia Gandhi termed the central government a dictator and said, "Unfortunately, leaders in power today are destroying the soul of the country and its democratic template. Various tactics are being adopted to suppress opposition leaders. Not only this, a conspiracy is being hatched to change our Constitution. This is a dictatorial move and we will fight it."
Trying to boost the morale of the crowd and party workers, Sonia said, "Our country has been in the hands of such a government for 10 years, which has left no stone unturned in promoting inequality and oppression. This time is full of despair but along with this comes hope and I am confident that Congress workers will light the lamp of justice through their efforts."
