Goa is witnessing a significant growth in solar power generation, with its installed capacity increasing almost seventeen times since 2019, when the State launched its solar mission.
Sun shines on Goa: Solar power spikes 17-fold

In the last six years (till September 2024), the State has generated 168.21 million units of green energy, with an annual rise.

From generating just 4.46 million units of power in 2019, to achieving 69.35 mn units of power by 2023-24, the State has made rapid growth. In the current financial year, the total solar generation is 28.59 mn units till Sept-end.

The number of solar connections in the State up to October is 1,566 with total installed capacity of 65.86 megawatts and total power generation of 168.21 million units.
