India was expected to come all guns blazing in front of a huge crowd to chase down a modest total after bowlers led by Arundhati Reddy and Shreyanka Patil restricted Pakistan women to 106 for 8 in 20 overs. But openers Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma known for their aggressive style of batting started slowly in chase. Mandhana went early and Shafali got going only after seven overs as India failed to use powerplays.
