The farmers in Andhra Pradesh protested for over 1,600 days and when the Chandrababu Naidu Government came back to power their joy knew no bounds. In all, 28,526 farmers had given up their lands and the women stood hand-in-hand with the men folk in the protest for the development of Amaravati.
Govindamma, a farmer from Thullur, who shared her relief upon Naidu's return. "We faced all kinds of harassment. The previous government tried to coerce us to end our protests, even targeting women involved in the agitation. Now, with Naidu in charge, electricity has been restored along the Amaravati road, which is glittering once again," she stated.
