Boy released as Dorset police hunt killer of woman on beach

A 17-year-old boy who had been arrested on suspicion of her murder has been released without charge, Dorset police said yesterday, adding that they were stepping up their hunt for the killer. They released CCTV images of a suspect and warned members of the public not to approach him.

Officers combed the beach and the surrounding areas yesterday as bank holiday visitors sunbathed nearby.

Family and friends paid tribute to Gray, 34, from nearby Poole, who was the women's head coach at Dorset futsal club.

Some scattered petals on to the sea at Durley Chine beach as the sun went down on Sunday and posted on social media: "Sunsets will always remind us of you Amie Gray. Forever loved wife and mother." Gray and a second woman, 38, were stabbed at 11.45pm on Friday.

The second woman was seriously injured in the incident and is still being treated in hospital.

Australia beat rain and Brook's misfiring hosts to claim series

Despite a spot of time-wasting towards the end, the rain arrived three minutes too late to rescue England. Australia were ahead on the Duckworth-Lewis-Stern calculations when it came and, with just enough overs bowled to ensure a result, the tourists went on to claim a 3-2 series win and snuff out any debate about the moral victors of this one.
