Shares in the social media platform Reddit rose 35% yesterday after it reported the first profit in its 20-year history as it reaped the benefits of a move to license the content of its online communities to artificial intelligence firms as training data.
The results covering the July to September quarter showed a better-than-forecast $29.9m (£23m) profit, while revenue reached $348.4m - up 68% compared with the same period a year earlier.
