WEDDINGS and events can now be held in a Grade II-listed property near Yelverton, despite concerns over noise nuisance.
The application gained unanimous support from West Devon Borough Council planners, after they were told a noise management plan would be put in place and noise would not be heard above ambient countryside sounds.
A total of 32 people wrote to the council, split evenly in support and opposition to plans for Uphill Farm Walled Garden. Supporters said the venture would benefit the local economy, support a hard-working family, and provide jobs.
The application included retrospective permission for alterations to a listed barn, three unauthorised timber structures used as kitchens and a toilet and parking on an adjacent field for up to 40 vehicles.
