A CITY barber is turning heads by giving Plymouth Argyle stars the latest cool hairstyles. Harry Fairfield only opened his studio in the city centre this month but he's already showing he is a cut above by becoming so busy he's by appointment only.
And not only has he shorn the locks of Pilgrims' heroes such as Morgan Whittaker, Ryan Hardie and Lewis Gibson at his FHcuts Studio, in Cornwall Street, but he's also styled players from the likes of Bristol City and Derby County when they have visited Plymouth. Not bad for a self-taught barber who originally set out to be a basketball star.
"I came to Plymouth to study sports science at Plymouth Marjon University and was playing with Plymouth Raiders," Harry said. "I had started cutting hair when I was in basketball college in Loughborough, before I moved to Plymouth in 2019. I just learned how to do it from YouTube videos, I didn't do any courses but taught myself." After finishing his degree he got a job in a city centre barbers where he worked for two years before deciding it was time to open his own studio. He is now based above the Oceanvape shop in Cornwall Street.
