Paul Oddy lived in a city care home, and died after coping with the limitations caused by cerebral palsy his whole life.
The 72-year-old loved motorbikes and the staff who looked after him for more than 25 years decided to celebrate that by inviting anyone with a motorcycle to saddle up and join his funeral cortege. They said any biker can turn up at Stepping Stones care home, Boxhill Close, Honicknowle, at 10am today – and become part of the funeral procession.
It will leave the home at 10.30am for Weston Mill Cemetery and Crematorium. Kerry Town, Stepping Stones manager, said: “Paul was a joy, we think he deserves a celebration.”
