A PLYMOUTH teenager who has been described as a ‘warrior’ by her mum due to her bravery and determination to get better is now facing a new health battle.
Lacey Eden, 17, has been diagnosed with a very rare form of leukaemia called mixed phenotype leukaemia. It is said to affect only one person every few years and Lacey was told she was one of those rare few in February.
Due to how uncommon it is, Lacey had to undergo months of treatment in Bristol to be carefully monitored.
Unfortunately, while receiving her first course of chemotherapy, she caught a rare fungal infection which is known to affect one in two million people. It had a brutal impact on her health and body.
