City seeks a 'director of growth'

Plymouth City Council is advertising for an "instinctive system thinker" to become the new strategic director of growth in charge of ambitious plans to create 4,000 homes in the city centre and attract investment.

The post is currently held on an interim basis by former Exeter City Council chief executive Karime Hassan, who is believed to be earning about £1,000 a day.

The full-time role is being advertised at a salary of up to £168,000.

The job title was created this year to replace that of strategic director for place, a role held by Anthony Payne until he left the authority in August.
