Council dealing with two Traveller camps

RESIDENTS SAY ‘NO ACTION’ TAKEN BY POLICE DESPITE ‘GUN SHOTS’ AT WEST PARK

COUNCIL chiefs have confirmed it is preparing to deal with two unauthorised encampments at city parks in the Efford area of Plymouth and Central Park, while also making inquiries about a further suspected encampment in Plympton.

Residents around the area of Trefusis Park, off Old Laira Road, were quick to take to social media to react about the dozen or so caravans and vehicles which were spread around the edges of the park, with one stating that huge efforts had been made by the council to deter any attempt to move caravans onto the site.

They said: “That’s mad! They put in trenches to stop that from happening!”
