The Coronation will take place at Westminster Abbey on Saturday, May 6, and the UK will have an extra bank holiday on Monday, May 8.
Over the past few weeks people across the city have been applying to hold street parties, while others are planning community celebration events in local venues.
The city council has set aside a budget of £10,000 to fund grants of up to £300 to enable communities to come together and celebrate the weekend.
