A PLYMOUTH care home where residents were put at risk is set to be turned into flats.
The former Dewi-Sant care home closed in April 2023, just months after the home was slammed by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) and put into special measures.
Dewi-Sant provided accommodation in a three-storey adapted building in Compton for up to 34 elderly people who needed personal care.
The home specialised in supporting people living with dementia and other complex conditions, but when inspectors visited in September 2022 they found the 26 people living there were “not protected from the risk of avoidable harm”.
The CQC, when it published its report three months later , said risks were often not identified and, even when they were, not enough was done to keep people safe.
