Henderson delighted with the way young team keep learning

TAVISTOCK manager Stuart Henderson is delighted with the way his young team are learning on the job as their climb up the Southern League Division One South continued with a superb 4-3 win at Bishops Cleeve on Saturday.

Tavi have always had good young technical players, often youngsters that have been trained in local Academies, but being taught how to play and learning how to win games of football are two very different things.

That is something his side are coming to terms with this season with Henderson delighted that his players are fast learning the more tactical side of the game, following back-to-back wins against league leaders Frome Town and then Bishops Cleeve.

“I am from a background of developing young footballers, who want to get on the ball and pass and pass and pass,” he said. “But there are different ways to skin a cat, different ways to win a football match and we are learning that possession doesn’t mean you are going to win games of football.
