Home Park stadium to be regular summer concert venue

PLYMOUTH Argyle have worked hard to make Home Park the biggest venue for concerts and events south of Bristol, chief executive officer Andrew Parkinson has said.

The stadium has a capacity of around 26,000 for concerts and will be up to that limit when Take That, joined by very special guest Olly Murs, perform there next summer.

Tickets for the concert on Tuesday, June 4 sold out in less than halfan-hour such was the high demand. With a hire fee for Home Park paid to Argyle by the promoters plus revenue from the sales of food and beverages it promises to be a lucrative event for the club.

Parkinson told Herald Sport “Outside of football we are an event space and over the last few years one of the key things we have been able to do is diversify our range, which is good from an income point of view.

“As we see ourselves as being in the heart of the community and the heart of the city as well then I think it demonstrates our place in terms of being able to offer over and above football.

“Home Park is a great venue. We have worked really hard to be able to get the capacity to something which means that it’s the biggest space south of Bristol for concerts and events.
