Houghton returns as Argyle seek a response

The 28-year-old was having an excellent Championship campaign with the Pilgrims until he suffered an ankle injury in training in the build-up to the Pilgrims' 1-1 draw away to Leeds United in the FA Cup fourth round. Houghton has missed the last four matches, including the extra-time 4-1 defeat by Leeds in the FA Cup replay last Tuesday, but is now available for selection again.

Head coach Ian Foster said: "At the weekend Jordan managed to do his last session with the medics before coming back into the group.

His partner gave birth to a baby girl on Monday, so we wish them really well and congratulate them on that.

He comes back into contention for a place, so that's pleasing." Houghton captained Argyle in Foster's first Championship match in charge of the team, the 1-1 draw away to Huddersfield Town, and then played as a late substitute in the 3-1 home win against Cardiff City before being ruled out by his injury.
