C WEST

Stoke Gabriel already had the C West title sewn-up before the final bout of fixtures - and with it the one promotion place out of the division.

Although there is no consolation prize for finishing second, Ivybridge will view it as a stepping stone to promotion next season, which is what Stoke Gabriel have done.

Skipper Josh Zimmerman top scored for Ivybridge with 77 in almost even time towards a total of 234 all out. He was third out on 141.

Mick Rusling (3-30) and Gavin Colegate (2-36) took top-order wickets for D&T, which left Lewis Starkie (4-11) to mop-up at the end.

Dinesh Raheja, a former Ivybridge player, then led the run chase for D&T with 65 off 66 balls. He was fourth to go on 132.

Alistair Selby (36) and Rizwan Ahmed (44) kept the chase on an even keel. Shibin Varghese (28no) saw D&T over the line with four balls left.

■ YELVERTON defeated Plymouth 2nd XI by 99 runs in an end-of-season encounter with nothing on it for either side.

Rob Grove walloped 92 off 77 balls - 10 fours, three sixes - as Yelverton advanced to 256 all out. Along the way Grove put on 110 with Joe Trimmer (30). Josh Stevenson was the last man standing on 34 not out.

Sam Knapman (4-43) was Plymouth's leading wicket taker. Dave Burke (9-2-19-0) was the meanest bowler.

Plymouth's batting had a collective off day as the Yelverton bowled the out for 147. Pete Evans made 30 and George Atkinson 26, which did not leave much from the rest.

Yelverton's Mike Lemmings bowled nine overs for just nine runs conceded and two wickets as well. Sam Crompton, Lachlan Curtis and Toby Julyan all had two wickets each.

■ CHAMPIONS Stoke Gabriel clobbered Cornwood 2nd XI by seven wickets in a non-event at the Eastley Memorial Ground.
