THE jury in the trial of a city businessman accused of murdering 42-year-old David Kelly in a city lane heard from a pathologist who described in detail the numerous injuries Mr Kelly suffered after the wheels of a Range Rover rolled over his face and body.
Shortly before prosecutors concluded their evidence against 37-year-old Luke Dann, of Beechwood Rise, Manor Park, Plymouth, jurors were also shown the arresting officer's bodyworn video footage, taken at the Costa Coffee shop at Marsh Mills, as Dann was told he was being arrested on suspicion of murder.
During the short clip, a dazed-looking Dann questioned whether the officer was "real", before repeatedly wailing: "What are you doing to me?"
Dann, who is on trial at Plymouth Crown Court, has denied one count of murder and one count of manslaughter of Mr Kelly on the evening of March 21 this year.
Prosecutor Adam Vaitilingam KC questioned PC Perry, from Devon and Cornwall Police's forensic collision investigation unit, who was called to the scene in Leigham Manor Drive that night and later inspected the Range Rover car. PC Perry confirmed he had recovered a wing mirror casing which fitted Dann's Range Rover.
