South West creative writing organisation Literature Works has partnered with The Box, where the workshops will take place, and live literature organisation Speaking Volumes to run the Women Speak Volumes events.
These are workshops for women aged 41 and older in which they are encouraged to explore and develop their creative voices and tell their stories through life-writing and memoir.
The workshops were due to be led by acclaimed memoirist Cathy Rentzenbrink, but she is unable to take part in the first weekend event today and tomorrow.
However, she will be back for the next session on January 6 and 7, and has a very able replacement this weekend in multi award-winning poet Pascale Petit, from Cornwall.
Pascale's poetry has been published across many collections and her eighth collection, Tiger Girl, published by Bloodaxe in 2020, was shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best Collection and for Wales Book of the Year.
