The Hot House Combo swing band has the honour of being the first group to play at the newly created Old Town Square.
The gig on Saturday, October 19, from noon to 3pm, is part of a "variety of events" scheduled as part of the Plymouth Art Weekender, taking part across the city from October 18 to 20. Plymouth City Centre Company has told businesses that there will be more events scheduled for half-term week and during the festive season.
A "performance space" has been created in Old Town Street as part of the £17m redevelopment of the road and adjoining New George Street, near the entrance to Drake Circus shopping centre. Plymouth City Centre Company said: "We are working with partners on a packed programme of entertainment for New George Street and Old Town Street as the improvement works near completion. The fun will start next weekend with a variety of events as part of the Plymouth Art Weekender.
