DETAILS of the death of a Plymouth man who was found dead in his prison cell four years ago are set to be heard at an inquest. Lee Hellyer was found dead at HMP Exeter the day after he was convicted of the attempted murder of his estranged wife.
The 40-year-old tried to kill the mother of his three children by twice jabbing her with a cake knife at their former marital home in Plymouth. Mr Hellyer, who had lived in St Budeaux, then tried to strangle the then 32-year-old with his hands and a key chain until she felt she was going to die.
