The 33 homes at Bridge View, Calstock, have been abandoned after the developer's costs spiralled out of control.
It is claimed that delays at Cornwall Council led to the developer, Exmouth-based Bridge View LL10 Ltd, racking up £1.2 million in interest payments, making it impossible for the developer to continue the work. The homes on the site have been left empty and it is thought that the development could be handed over to a lender.
