The public and businesses will be given six weeks to say that they think of the new design.
The public consultation starts on Tuesday, October 17, when the proposals will go public. Residents and businesses will be asked their views on the suggested plans to regenerate the thoroughfare, following the incoming Labour administration’s decision to overturn the original plans in May.
The party sent the previous scheme back to the drawing board after the furore over the felling of trees overnight in March. The fallen trees remained in place, due to legal reasons, until they were removed on September 22.
Plymouth City Council can now move ahead and has engaged an independent company – London-based communications consultancy ECF – to lead the management, delivery and evaluation of the public consultation. The process will gather insight to help shape the final design.
