For starters, the weather was absolutely atrocious. What happened to our 'Indian Summer' we are forever promised? It rained from about 2pm on the day until 8pm at night, proving rubbish spectator conditions.
Still, a fair few of you still did turn up, with over 1,000 of you in attendance. It was brilliant to see so many faces back at the ground, despite the weather.
On the pitch, the young team proved a little too inexperienced to face the northern side and seemed to struggle in the scrum, giving away silly penalties. The score sheet ended up 28-24 to Sale, but despite the result, the boys put in a strong performance and showed plenty of determination, fighting to the final whistle. A solid base for improvement throughout the season one may say.
