A DISTRICT nurse has set up a new business using animal and art therapy to help people suffering from a range of conditions.
Anna Corwood has launched Pets and Picasso in Plymouth, with the help of a £25,000 Start Up Loan from the British Business Bank.
The bank is backed by the Government to support small businesses across the UK by providing loans designed to help new businesses that might not be able to secure support from a high street bank.
The bank has announced that it has loaned more than £1 billion since the Start Up Loans programme started in 2012. In the South West, more than 9,000 businesses have launched with loans totalling £85 million, making it one of the top three regions outside London and the South East.
Anna used her £25,000 loan to set up a Community Interest Company with her partner, Luke Gash, aiming to provide animal and art-assisted therapy to local people living with a wide range of health conditions.
