WATER pumps which will empty trenches flooded by snowmelt on the frontline of Ukraine are part of a haul of donations being delivered by a convoy, which includes two former teachers from Millbrook in Cornwall.
Generators to deal with frequent blackouts, as well as almost half a tonne of food and vital medical supplies are among the latest donations which have been organised by a Plymouth businessman.
Two caravans packed with goods will head to Dover this weekend on the way to the war-torn country, which is still battling a prolonged invasion by Russia.
Two former teachers who now live in Millbrook, Jed Lewis and Pete Dunstone, are driving one vehicle towing a caravan, in what is their second aid trip as far as the Polish border with Ukraine.
The other caravan, leaving from Hereford, will be driven by war photographer Pete Masters, who is intent on travelling on into Ukraine and all the way to the frontline to document the devastation.
They will visit a Christian refugee camp outside Lutsk as well as hospitals in Kyiv and even an animal rescue centre.
But a fresh appeal is ongoing to help volunteer drivers pay for fuel, ferry passage and accommodation costs for the round trip.
