A PLYMOUTH cat owner says she is unlikely to let her cat out again after it suffered an almost-fatal shooting.
Claire Cribbett said she recently found her 11-year-old black and white moggy called Moose hiding fearfully and forlorn behind a bedroom door in the family home where she usually sits when she's afraid of fireworks.
Claire, from the Pomphlett area of Plymstock, said: "I picked her up and she made a sad noise so I checked her body and found the wound. I took her to the vets and we first thought it was a dog bite, but I got a call later with the news that she'd been shot and she had to go to Taunton for surgery."
She added: "The surgeon thinks that from the angle the pellet entered Moose's body she was shot from above. Perhaps someone saw her passing or perhaps they caught her going to the toilet, we don't know.
