LEE Hobbs has called on his Plymouth Parkway players to treat tomorrow's FA Cup clash with Frome Town 'like a quarter-final' as he seeks an extended run in the competition.
Tomorrow's clash at Bolitho Park is a second qualifying round clash and sees Parkway welcome a team from Southern League Division One South, where they sit in seventh place with seven points from four games played.
Frome have already accounted for Falmouth Town (6-2) and Clevedon Town (3-1) in their two previous Cup matches, but with the financial rewards so lucrative to non-League clubs these days, Hobbs wants his team to treat it as a quarter-final with the 'final' a place in the fourth and final qualifying round.
"We looked at this fixture and as far as we are concerned, we are in the quarter-final of the FA Cup," Hobbs said. "Next round is the semi-final and then the final, so we are three games away from the first round proper, which brings lots and lots of prizes where, if you win it, it's worth £40,000 to you, there is an opportunity to be televised, the chance of a Football League club and that's the focus we are looking to, but we can't afford to look beyond Frome Town, who are a very good outfit.
