ADAM Randell feels proud he can represent the watching Green Army when Plymouth Argyle try to clinch promotion from League One against Burton Albion at a sold-out Home Park tomorrow.
The table-topping Pilgrims know that a win in their final home match of the season, or third-placed Sheffield Wednesday dropping points away to Shrewsbury Town, will see them clinch a place in the Championship for the first time in 13 years.
For Plymouth-born, lifelong Argyle fan Randell that is an exciting prospect but the 22-year-old has been trying to keep his emotions in check in the build-up to the game.
He said: "I feel immensely proud.
I'm out there representing everyone in the stands effectively, from being sat up there myself to doing it down on the pitch. If I can help us get over the line then I will be really proud." In addition to being a member of the Green Army, Randell is an Argyle academy graduate so he fully appreciates what promotion from League One would mean for everyone.
Randell said: "It would be a massive moment for me personally and for the club as a whole. I would be really proud if we could achieve it.
We have just got to stay focused and not get ahead of ourselves." Argyle are on a run of four successive wins, with the most recent being the 2-0 beating of Bristol Rovers at a sold-out Home Park on Tuesday night. They scored twice early in the second half through Niall Ennis and Macaulay Gillesphey against a Rovers side who had been reduced to 10 players after the dismissal of Antony Evans in the 26th minute.
Randell said: "That second goal, I was buzzing that we got it because it gave us a bit of a cushion and put us massively in control of the game.
