THE Remembrance Sunday parade in Plympton will not go ahead this year after the council could not obtain insurance.
In a letter to schools in the area, Major Kevin Randall informed parents that the event on Sunday, November 10, would not be taking place this year.
He wrote: “The Plympton Community Council recently informed us that they are unable to meet the necessary organisational requirements to obtain insurance and adequately support the parade and Remembrance event this year.
“This decision was made after careful consideration and consultation with relevant parties. As a result, the event will not take place.
