AT LAST, Polestar has more strings to its bow. Its only car until now has been the 2 but that model is now joined by two completely new models which are the 3 and the 4.
Broadening its offering is essential for Polestar because at the moment it is losing large amounts of money.
The company is owned by Chinese giant Geely which also controls fellow Swedish brand Volvo.
The bean counters at Geely will be hoping these new models will turn much of the ink in their books from red to black.
We're testing the Polestar 3 this week which, contrary to what you might expect, is larger than the 4.
It is, in fact, built on the same platform as the new Volvo EX90, which is a large size electric SUV.
It's 4,900mm long and 2,120mm wide but has a low roofline to help improve aerodynamics and therefore range. All the cars at the launch were four-wheel drive dual-motor versions in Launch Edition spec.
